#Blighted-#Ovum
A blighted ovum (also known as “anembryonic pregnancy”) happens when a fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterine wall, but the embryo does not develop. Cells develop to form the pregnancy sac(gestational sac), but not the embryo itself.
A blighted ovum occurs within the first trimester, often before a woman knows she is pregnant.
👉Case Study-
#UltraSound-#Finding:
1-Bulky uterus containing an irregularly shaped gestational sac with abnormal contour and irregular margins with no embryonic pole or yolk sac seen within it.
2-GSD = 28mm. GA.
3-Both adnexae are free.
4-Internal os is closed.
5-The POD is empty.
👉Conclusion:
Features are highly suggestive of Blighted ovum at early pregacy.
